Fest reporter Steve Bennett brings us the nitty-gritty.
Talk of the Fringe today is obviously Mark Watson and his successful record attempt to perform 24 hours of continuous stand-up.
And to cap it all, at the end of the marathon gig, he proposed to his girlfriend, Emily Howes, who accepted!
Watson, who's just 24 and already has a novel under his belt, as well as his stand-up career, said he was "dazed and happy" by the events of the day. And Emily said the proposal, which came out the blue was "really beautiful".
Twelve hardy souls braved the entire run with him, with others either popping in and out, or simply slipping off home for a few hours sleep. Come the climax of the show, 160 were in the Cowgate Central venue.
Fellow comics joined in the fun, too, with the likes of Stewart Lee, Adam Hills and Dara O'Briain popping in to lend their support for a show that contained debate, sketches, book readings, and a bizarre game of Chinese Whispers to keep the show going whenever Watson needed a toilet break.
This is the true, inventive spirit of the Fringe and, whatever complaints people have about the festival, one of the few places where performing none stop for a whole day actually seems like a good idea.
