Odds and Sods

Steve rounds up some of the interesting festival tidbits...

News reaches me of a break-in at the Greyfriars Kirkhouse venue, especially worrying since it's only a few yards from my Edinburgh flat. Despite being ransacked, nothing was stolen, and the venue opened on time the next day.

As if Edinburgh wasn't challenging enough, comic Neil Delamare is doing a parachute this weekend, in aid of the Waverly Care Aids charity supported by the Pleasance venues.

Staff working at the venue where Fringe regulars The Ladyboys Of Bangkok perform have been given permission to wear badges stating their gender, after one claims he was groped to find out if he was a transsexual or not.

Celebrity spots so far include Ricky Gervais (who's doing a one-off show tonight), Michael Portillo, and Jude Law though the latter turned out to be someone who just looked a bit like him, so probably doesn't count.
