The Digital Fringe

Sample Edinburgh without the rain, sleep deprivation or deep-fried food.

Can't get to Edinburgh? Can but can't be bothered?

Well there are a number of internet sites that offer you a sample of the festival from the comfort of your own workstation.

Comic Danny James is hosting a nightly chat show from the Fringe, with guests that have so far included Andrew Maxwell, Ed Byrne and Tim Vine.

Plus you can download the shows once they've gone out on Red Ringer FM via the official website www.radioblahblah.co.uk.

In the Pleasance Courtyard, stand-up Jamie Douglas presents his Spitfire Electronique from 2.30pm to 4pm in a specially-built bunker, which seats only two people.

Yet you can also watch online at www.jamiedouglas.net.

Finally, of course, there's the BBC.

As well as DJ Danny Robins' regular audio updates on our homepage, you can also hear a selection of Fringe performers on Fred Macauley's BBC Scotland show. Today, for instance, he was joined by co-host Sue Perkins plus Jim Bowen, Tim Vine and Phil Kay.

Click on the Listen Again button at the top of his page.
