Collections: Jon Culshaw's Comedy Playlist

With the return of The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson, we thought we'd ask Jon Culshaw what comedy tickles his fancy, but first a bit about the man himself.

It was a radio station receptionist who first persuaded Jon Culshaw to take his impressions of politicians and celebrities from his radio show to the stage; to say he hasn't looked back is an understatement of some magnitude.

After winning a talent show on BBC radio, Jon really entered the public conscious when he called 10 Downing Street live on air whilst pretending to be William Hague and successfully managed to engage the Prime Minister in conversation. Jon then became the star of BBC Radio 4's Dead Ringers and BBC One's The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson.

After The Office, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant moved onto the world of show business from the periphery with Extras. Here, Gervais' character 'enjoys' David Bowie's impromptu performance.

a href="/programmes/p00c2whr">Les Dawsonand Roy Barraclough's portrayal of two Northern housewives, Cissie and Ada, is frighteningly real. Fortunately, it's really very funny too as the bosom heaving gossipers purse their lips once again in this clip.

Despite Little Britain's collection of grotesque characters, Matt Lucas and David Walliams' quirkier efforts, such as hotelier Ray McCooney (and his piccalillo) are equally as memorable. Ye know too much!

If Peter Serafinowicz really worked for a television shopping channel then it would probably be regarded as intentionally hilarious and compulsive viewing. However, this clip featuring an ant infestation from href="/programmes/b00824z8">The Peter Serafinowicz Show will have to do for now.

Who knows how Ronnie Barker remembered his lines in this Mastermind sketch from The Two Ronnies. The long running show had many clever sketches, but surely none as ingenious as this.
