This show should never have been cancelled. At times it was simply first-rate comedy, but it lost its way by trying to be too crass at times. If the toilet/genital humour directed at the 20-somethings had been stripped out, a much wider audience could have been recruited and retained. My wife and I are 45 and 55 respectively, and we often found much to enjoy with Mongrels: some of the songs were masterpieces ('Magical' and The C*** Song to name but two); Vince was a superb cariciature of oafish Britain, as was Nelson a perfect example of a 'metroponce'. Re-write it, re-package it, re-market it and bring it back.
