Jennifer Saunders

Jennifer SaundersWriter, comic, actor, mother of three and wife of comedian Ade Edmondson, JS has become an international comedy institution. In 1977 at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London she met Dawn French and the two went on to become household names. Ab Fab followed. Jennifer finds the glossies, like Elle and Vogue, a source of endless inspiration for Ab Fab but for recent series she has tapped into the phenomenon of celeb-worship. She was enthralled by Celebrity Big Brother, especially the antics of Vanessa and Anthea. Is this where Katy Grin came from? "Not specifically. She's a breed. Carol Smillie, Vanessa Feltz, Anthea Turner... being a presenter has become a real career option, the idea that people are going to drama school so that they can eventually become a presenter… I find presenter-worship extraordinary."

Joanna Lumley

JoannaThis statuesque blonde started out as a model but went on to do Shakespeare, horror flicks, Coronation Street, The New Avengers and probably the funniest supporting role of all time in the film version of Shirley Valentine. She has also been a Bond girl (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), the only female Doctor Who, and was cast away on a desert island in Girl Friday. She describes her character Patsy as "tragically vile" and "born without brakes."
