  • BBC Children in Need

    Helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

    In 2006-7 Children in Need raised £33m so far. £32.9m have been awarded to 1,350 charity projects working with children in need across the UK

  • Radio 4

    Broadcast every Sunday at 07:55 and 21:26, repeated Thursdays at 15:27.

    In 2006-7 Radio 4 Appeals raised £1,361,196 for 51 charities working in the UK and overseas.

  • Lifeline

    Lifeline is transmitted on BBC One monthly on Sunday starting between 5 and 6 pm and repeated the following Wednesday on BBC Two.

    In 2006-7 BBC One Lifeline raised £142,597 for 12 charities working in the UK and overseas.

  • Blue Peter Mission Nutrition

    Empowering children to make a positive difference.

    Mission Nutrition is this year's Blue Peter appeal, supporting Save the Children, the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens and ContinYou in helping children around the world to eat well and grow their own food.

    The aim is to get two million meals to hungry children, and help them to grow healthy food for themselves!

  • Sport Relief 2006

    Harnessing the power of sport to change lives for the better.

    Sport Relief 2006 raised £18.9m for 3 UK grant programmes which use the power of sport to support inclusion and cohesion and 2 international grant programmes aimed and Street and Working Children and Young People.

  • BBC Wildlife Fund

    Supporting work protecting wildlife under threat around the world.

    In 2007 the BBC Wildlife Fund raised over £1.4m for wildlife conservation charities working in the UK and worldwide.

  • BBC Northern Ireland

    In 2006-7 BBC Northern Ireland gave opportunities for 12 charities to broadcast appeals, raising £3,122. There is also the annual Family Appeal, which in 2005 helped 4,500 families, by providing gifts to 11,000 children.

  • BBC Wales

    In 2006-7 BBC Wales gave opportunities to 22 charities to raise money and other support through websites and radio and television broadcasts.

  • BBC Local Radio

    In 2006-7 BBC Local Radio appeals raised over £1,979,434, collected 200,000 toys and found 600 volunteers for charities in the English Regions. They also raised 5 transit vans full of pet food and blankets for local animal sanctuaries.

  • BBC Performing Arts Fund
    (formerly Fame Academy Bursary Trust)


    Supporting new talent across all musical genres.

    In 2006 BBC programmes such as 'How do you solve a problem like Maria' raised £416,000 to support 37 young performers in musical theatre, education, performance and production. 150 new musical instruments were given to children aged 11-15.
