Chinese New Year - Dragon
Make your own dragon for Chinese New Year.
This should take about 30 mins
You will need:
- Print-out (1 page)
- Red and green paper/tissue paper
- Scissors
- Sticky tape
- Sticks
- Glue
- Gold card
- Black pen
Remember to ask a Grown-up for help.
What to do:
Step 1
Take two strips of tissue paper, one red and one green. They should be about 3cm wide and 50cm long. Glue the end of the red strip of paper at right angles to the end of the green strip of paper. Then fold the red strip over the green strip and repeat over and over to make a woven chain. When there is only one piece of the strip left, glue and fold over. This will make the dragon's body.
Step 2
Using sticky tape attach the sticks onto either side of the dragon's body.
Step 3
Cut out the dragon print-out and glue onto a piece of gold card. Then, cut out the dragon's face using the print-out as a template. You should end up with a gold dragon's face.
Step 4
Attach the dragon's face to the dragon's body using sticky tape.
Step 5
Tear or cut smaller strips of paper and, using glue, add to the back of the dragon's face and the back of the dragon's body to make a tail and head-dress.
Step 6
Finally, draw the eyes and mouth on the gold side of the dragon's face.
