Sarah and Duck is an animation following the adventures of a little girl (Sarah) and her best friend Duck, (who is, of course, a duck…) as they explore the world in their own imaginative way.
The programme centres around the relationship between the two characters and the situations they encounter while on their adventures. The show observes situations through Sarah's eyes so little ones can really identify with her take on the world and approach to new situations.
Learning Objectives of the show
Friendship and imagination are the two key elements in the show - Sarah and Duck often encounter surprising things that they are keen to understand further! Sarah leads the way and Duck usually looks on carefully before trying to copy her.
Problem solving is a central theme to many episodes: Sarah will take the time to think things through, but Duck occasionally charges in thanks to his instincts but we quickly see the consequences! Sarah uses various methods to solve problems that come their way, (some logical and some less so!) but she is allowed to follow her instincts and learn for herself. This extends to finding lost things, understanding situations and being creative when making things.
