Sesame Tree

Join the creatures living in the Sesame Tree as they have fun finding out the answers to different questions.

Sesame Tree

Sesame Tree is Northern Ireland's adaptation of Sesame Street.

Sesame Tree uses the original Sesame Street puppets to portray a child's perspective of life in Northern Ireland, combined with snapshots from Sesame Street's international library.

The action takes place within the Sesame Tree - a tree where children can ask questions and have them answered. Living inside the Tree are Potto Monster and Hilda Hare who, along with the help of their upstairs neighbour Archie the Squirrel, work to give children the answers they are looking for.

In each episode, Potto, Hilda, and Archie work to find the answer to a child's question, such as “Why is it important to let others join in?” Archie helps Potto as he tries to find out the answers from books in the library, from friends and from stories on the internet. Hilda looks for answers outside the Tree, as she goes on expeditions visiting children around Northern Ireland who are able to help her find the answer.

Over the course of the programme, they not only find answers that help the child - but they learn and have fun along the way.
