Wrapping paper

This creative make is fun to do and you can use it afterwards to wrap up birthday or Christmas presents! It allows your child to experiment with different colours, shapes and textures and also helps to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they gently press the potato shapes onto the wallpaper to create a variety of designs.

How to extend the magic

As well as using the paper for wrapping up gifts, you could use it for a game of pass the parcel. Put a secret item in the first piece of paper (to make it extra fun for your child) and then wrap it up in several more layers. When you're ready, gather some toys around and enjoy a game of pass the parcel.
