Introduction
This activity is great for extending your child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them, as they learn about different types of food and where they come from. It's also a good way of developing their fine motor skills as they prepare ingredients and handle utensils. And it teaches them an important life skill - how to prepare tasty, nutritious meals (and the occasional yummy treat!).
How to extend the fun
Mango is used in this recipe. Explain to your child that mango is a fruit which grows on a tree in hot countries. The skin on the outside of a mango is usually dark green in colour. The skin has to be peeled off and the fruit inside is a yellowy-orange. Mangoes can also be used to make juice - popular combinations are apple & mango and orange & mango. Yum!
