Introduction
This interactive animated tale will help to develop your child’s language and literacy skills, as they watch and listen to the story, and click the mouse or tap the space bar when prompted. Watching it together is a great way of encouraging your child to enjoy books and the whole process of storytelling.
*PLEASE NOTE: This is the traditional version of the fairy tale and it may upset or scare some children, so you may wish to preview the story first before reading it with your child.*
How to extend the magic
Why not create a special storytelling den in the corner of the room and come up with your own 'happy ever after' fairy tale. Your story could be set in a forest or a castle and could feature fairies, magic spells, a king and a queen, a prince and princess, a baddie (such as a wicked witch - like the one in 'Hansel and Gretel'). Just begin your story with 'Once upon a time...' and have fun making up the rest!
