Introduction
This CBeebies Radio podcast is all about music and movement for children up to 6 years old. There are very regular new shows for you to either listen to on the CBeebies Radio player (see the link on the right) or for you to download and take away. You can then keep and play the show on anything that plays MP3s – that might be your phone, your computer, or your personal stereo system. You could even made an audio CD for your car to help with those long journeys.
How to download a podcast
A Podcast is the BBC’s name for a show you can download from the Internet. In the links section on this page is a link to Podcast Help which will show you a short video in plain English about downloading. Once you have downloaded the MP3 podcast file you can keep it forever and play it again and again. You can either: play it on your computer; transfer it to a phone ( a lot of new phones can play MP3 files); transfer it to play on an MP3 personal stereo; use your computer to then make an ‘audio CD’ that you can play in a normal CD player. It’s worth downloading a few podcasts to make a compilation album. About 8 shows will fit on an audio CD. To find out more about making an audio CD, take a look at the links section.
How to extend the fun
Young children love to see grown-ups being silly. Children often pick up their inhibitions from people around them so, why not throw yourself whole-heartedly into the music and movements. Let yourself go and show them what you're made of. There are 6 types of CBeebies Radios podcasts - for little learners and bigger learners. Why not take a look some of the others?
