Have a little role play game with your child using the finger puppet. Get your child to be Pat and ask him some questions (eg 'Oh hello Pat, how are you? Have you been making any special deliveries today?) and then see if your child can answer those questions in Pat's voice. Share a few giggles together as you act out some conversations together.
