About this activity

So that your little one can fully embrace their inner pirate, the presenters have put together some handy videos to help you make all the pirate accessories you’ll ever need. We’ll be adding more throughout the week as you see them on TV, but these are the things you might want to check you’ve got in your cupboards before you get started:

Pirate telescope:

Cat and Cerrie will be making this on Saturday and Sunday morning. This is what you’ll need:

  • Cardboard tube from aluminium foil
  • Cardboard tube from cling film
  • Coloured card – 2/3 sheets of A4
  • Sticky tape
  • Paint
  • Brushes

    Treasure Map

    Alex will be putting on his pirate hat and demonstrating how to make a treasure map on Monday.

    This is what your little pirate will need to have to hand:

  • White paper
  • Teabags
  • Small bowl of cold water
  • Felt tip pens
  • Colourful ribbon strip

    Pirate Beards

    On Monday Cat and Alex will be making pirate beards.

    This is what your little one will need to make their own:

  • Brown or black card
  • Scissors adult use
  • Glue stick
  • String
  • Sticky tape
  • Pencil
  • Thick pen

    Pirate Hook Hand

    Cat and Alex will be showing us how to make an authentic pirate hook hand on Tuesday.

    This is what you’ll need:

  • Modelling clay
  • Paper cup
  • Aluminium foil
  • Pencil
  • Sticky tape
