Introduction
This animated tale will help to develop your child’s language and literacy skills, especially their listening skills. Watching and listening to it together is a great way of encouraging your child to enjoy books and the whole process of storytelling. The activity is also great for stimulating their imagination as they listen to the narrator and find out what happened when Jack climbed up a huge beanstalk and came face to face with a scary giant.
How to extend the magic
Why not create a special storytelling den in the corner of the room and come up with your own 'happy ever after' fairy tale. Your story could be set in a forest or a castle and could feature fairies, magic spells, a king and a queen, a prince and princess, a baddie (such as a scary giant - like the one in 'Jack and the Beanstalk'). Just begin your story with 'Once upon a time...' and have fun making up the rest!
