This activity is great for extending your child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them, as they learn about different types of food and where they come from. It's also a good way of developing their fine motor skills as they prepare ingredients and handle utensils. And it teaches them an important life skill - how to prepare tasty, nutritious meals (and the occasional yummy treat!).
How to extend the fun
Ask your child if they know where honey comes from? Explain that the honey we eat is made by honey bees. The bees make the honey by using nectar they have collected from flowers - and store it in honeycombs inside a beehive. Honey is used to sweeten and flavour various foods and drinks.
