Balloon and bottle

Introduction

Creating this little water soaker will help to develop your child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them, and how things work. It will also help to improve their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they carefully snip the straw, insert it into the hole in the bottle, attach the neck of the balloon to the sport's cap on the bottle and then blow the balloon up. Your child will find some of this task tricky so you'll need to be on hand to help out.

How to extend the magic

Have some fun together trying to squirt water at each other. It's probably best to do this outside or when your child's in the bath! You could also share some giggles together by blowing up a balloon for your child and then releasing it from your fingers (or from theirs). Your child will love the cheeky noises the deflating balloon makes. Be prepared to do this several times!
