Introduction
This fun make is great for developing your child's hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they snip out segments from the egg carton, bend and trim the pipe cleaners, and then finally stick and paint the materials to assemble their egg box ant. It's quite a fiddly make for small hands so your child will need some help along the way.
How to extend the magic
Why not help your child create a little gang of egg box creepy crawlies? You could make a spider by adding two extra pipe cleaners for legs - or you could add some more segments of the egg box to the body (plus some extra pipe cleaners) to create a caterpillar. If your child prefers, they could let their imagination run wild and design a new egg box creature.
