Introduction
Print out this template to help your child create their own special henna hand pattern. You could print several copies so your child can experiment with different colours. As well as encouraging your child to be imaginative with their design, it will also allow them to practise hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they form the curly, swirly patterns with their colouring pen.
How to extend the magic
Explain that Eid-al-Fitr is a three-day Muslim celebration and many women and girls have henna patterns applied to their hands during the festival period. Click through to the Watch & Listen area of the CBeebies website and select 'Seasonal'. Take a look at 'Celebrating Eid-al-Fitr' to find out how one girl celebrates Eid with her family.
