Introduction

This animated tale will help to develop your child’s language and literacy skills as they carefully watch and listen to the story and click on the ‘next’ button to turn the pages when prompted. The activity is also a fun, interactive way for your child to find out more about the world around them and to become more aware of the relationships between people and of thinking of others people’s feelings.

How to extend the magic

Why not have a go at making some homemade maracas (dried peas/beans in an empty bottle) or cymbals (two saucepan lids) like the ones featured at the end of the story? They’re simple to make and great fun to play. Have a giggle together experimenting with the sounds as you SHAKEY-SHAKE the maraca and CRASH! the cymbals together. Hum, sing, jump or dance around to the music you make!
