Introduction
Constructing this make is a great way of helping your child to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they cut, paint, decorate and stick a range of materials together to create the castle keeper. They can experiment with different colours and textures along the way. The make is a bit complicated in parts so you'll need to be on hand in case your child needs some help.
How to extend the magic
Why not suggest that you and your child have a go at making some little people (from modelling clay) to live in the castle? They can be stored away in the castle after your child has finished playing with them. You could also make some little paper flags to fly from the tops of the turrets.
