Cardboard box suitcase

Introduction

Constructing this make is a great way of helping your child to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they cut, stick, paint and decorate their box. They can experiment with different colours, shapes and textures along the way. It's quite a fiddly make for small hands, so you'll need to be on hand to help your child.

How to extend the magic

Your child could make a little suitcase box for their favourite toy using a fun-sized cereal box. Encourage them to be as creative as they like with their suitcase box designs. They could paint a picture or pattern on it. And they could add some extra decorations, eg stickers, feathers, pom poms, ribbons, stick-on jewels, glitter - whatever they like!
