Introduction
Your child can practise their writing skills by filling in these menu cards with some of their favourite recipes. They'll be improving their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they grip and then manipulate the pen to form letters.
How to extend the magic
Why not choose a savoury, sweet or fruit recipe from Big Cook's Recipe Book (it's in the Make & Colour section) and get creative in the kitchen! There are lots of delicious ideas to choose from. Preparing ingredients and learning to handle utensils (such as mixing with a wooden spoon) is another great way of helping to develop your child's hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Weighing out ingredients will also help them with their thinking and numeracy skills.
