Alphablocks

Introduction

This alphabet make is great for helping your child to develop their letter recognition skills. Print out the two sheets of Alphablocks characters and then let your child practise their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills by snipping along the dotted lines using a pair of safety scissors (you might need to help them out if they find it tricky). If they want to, they could colour in the letter on each Alphablock character.

How to extend the magic

Why not mount your two sheets onto a piece of brightly-coloured card and then put up the Alphablocks chart on the kitchen wall or in your child's bedroom. You could play a daily letter game by choosing a letter, sounding it out, and then thinking of as many words as you can beginning with that letter.
