Beans on toast on a plate

Constructing this make is a great way of helping your child to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they paint, decorate and stick a range of materials together to create their plate of pretend food. They can experiment with different colours, shapes and textures along the way. The make is a bit complicated in parts so you'll need to be on hand in case your child needs some help.

How to extend the magic

Have some fun creating some more pretend food. You could use modelling clay to make some fruit and vegetables or some pieces of thin sponge to create a plate of fish fingers and chips? Let your child be as imaginative as they like with their foodie ideas.
