Paint a colour onto the flat surface of the potato and print squares onto your paper. Wipe the paint off once this has been done. You can use different colours for adjacent squares.
Draw a cherry shape on the potato with a felt tip pen.
Use a knife to score around the shape. Keep the part you want and slice around the shape to leave it in a raised section.
