You can add some red, yellow or even purple food colouring for a funky-coloured lava.
If you want to make a bigger volcano, just use a larger bottle!
Step-by-step 'Erupting Volcano' guide
Follow the steps below or print out the instructions.
Stand the water bottle in the baking pan. You can secure the bottle with some play dough if required.
DO NOT COVER THE HOLE OR GET PLAY DOUGH IN IT.
Put 2 tbsp baking soda into the bottle, then add 1 tbsp washing-up liquid and a few drops of red food colouring.
Scrunch the tin foil into a volcano shape around the bottle, and then mould the play dough around it using your choice of colours.
Decorate your volcano with a choice of extras – twigs, animals and other toys – make it as impressive as possible!
Once you’ve made your volcano, using a measuring jug slowly pour vinegar into the bottle until you see foam rising to the top.
