Tie the broom handle to the long stick with string or duct tape, forming the shape of a cross.
Place the shirt and trousers onto the wooden frame and stick it into the ground. Make sure the shoulders of the shirt go across the stick and that one of the trouser legs goes over the broom handle.
Your scarecrow is now ready for stuffing! Shove as much straw as you like into the body and legs of your scarecrow until it is nice and bulky. Make sure you tie the ends to keep the straw inside!
Now the head: stuff the pillow case until it is half full with straw. Again, to stop the straw falling out, use duct tape to tie the top end. Then place it on top of the body and tuck the rest into the shirt.
TIME TO DECORATE! Draw a face with markers, place a hat or use a mop for hair – you decide! You can make a necklace by tying millet sprays together with string, and attract birds into your garden!
