Make Gareth's toad in the hole
First up, wash your hands!
Then preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (Gas Mark 4).
Line a 25cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper.
Place a large bowl over some simmering water. Melt the butter and the chocolate into the bowl, mixing them together until smooth.
Ask an adult to help, as the water will be hot!
In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and the sugar.
Add this to the chocolate and butter.
Stir together well, then beat the eggs in a separate bowl and put them into the chocolate mixture.
Mix until you get a silky-smooth consistency.
Now pour the brownie batter into the baking tin and place it into the oven for about 25 minutes.
Be careful – the oven will be hot!
Once cooked, the brownies should be slightly springy on the outside but still gooey in the middle.
Leave your brownies to cool in the tin, then carefully transfer them onto a large chopping board and cut them into chunky squares.
Serve them up as a dessert or give them to your friends as delicious gifts!
