Wash out your carton and pull it open at the top like this
Cut open the carton by cutting down the middle of the opposite side of the screw top – the easiest way to do this is hold the carton with the screw cap facing down towards the table or floor and cut the side which is facing upwards.
Then cut around the bottom and cut off the bottom square, you won’t need this.
Lay the carton out flat (dry with kitchen towel, if necessary) and gentle push out the screw cap fastening.
Neaten the top of the carton by trimming any excess.
Using the template print out, cut out the shape and stick the two halves together with sticky tape (or you can design your own net if you prefer).
Place the template on the inside of your flat carton and draw around it, making sure to copy all the markings onto your carton.
Then cut it out - be careful with the scissors and ask an adult for help if needed.
Score all the lines that you have transferred onto your carton using a compass and a ruler – be careful and ask an adult for help if needed.
Fold your carton in half across the middle horizontal line, pull down the top flap.
Cut out the circle you have just marked on the carton - Then pop the screw cap back into your carton lid.
Once you have done this you are ready to start folding your pouch, gather up the sides by starting at the top and folding in each one of the triangles so it makes a concertina, do this on both sides.
Cut off any excess at the top - this will help when folding over the lid.
Pull the flap over the screw cap.
Top Tip: Add a bit of sticky tape to the opening on the flap lid - this will keep it secure and strong.
Attach the screw lid, this will keep your pouch sealed and your coins safe!
