Entice wildlife into your garden with our simple Hedgehog Hideaway, made from a cardboard box.
Take your box and cut an air vent in both sides, measuring 15cm x 5cm. Then cut a hole in the front, measuring 15cm x 15cm. This will be the entrance for your hedgehog hideaway.
Shred your newspaper into strips and
put it inside your hideaway with the dry grass, straw and leaves. This will
be the bedding for your hedgehog guests.
Take the plastic bin bag and
wrap it round the box, making sure you cut holes for your air vents and
Now all you need to do is
decorate the outside to entice the hedgehogs to move in.
Place your finished hedgehog hideaway in a quiet corner of your garden, away from any pets and wait to see if you get any prickly visitors!
Please remember you should never touch hedgehogs as they are wild animals and can scratch and bite when frightened. If you find an injured hedgehog, you should call the RSPCA.
