This guide will help you download and install CBBC screensavers onto your computer for FREE.
The screensavers on CBBC are for entertainment purposes only and are intended for use with powersave features of your monitor. If you have the powersave feature active on your computer and the screen blanks out after several minutes of not being used, your screen will be protected.
However, CBBC screensavers will not save the phosphors of your screen. If your monitor does not have powersave features (ie, the screen does not shut down after several minutes when not in use) you should use a regular screensaver with a constantly moving image in order to protect your screen.
To make things simpler in our example we'll show you how to download a CBBC Nature screensaver. Don't worry if you want to choose different screensaver though, the instructions are the same for all the screensavers on CBBC
1. Download the cbbc_nature.zip. When the file download box appears click on 'Save this programme to disk' - don't forget where you save it!
2. Find the saved copy of the file and open it up by double clicking on it. The file will then install itself onto your hard disk. Your new screensaver is ready!
