DirectX download guide

It is very easy to download and the Microsoft DirectX site is very clever and can tell which system and which browser you are using to look at its site.

1. Firstly, you need to go to the DirectX website.

Once you have arrived at the DirectX website click on the continue button. You don't have to enter any details to continue, the website will allow you to pass onto the next page.

2. The Automatic Installer will check if you have the DirectX Plug-in before downloading the plug-in installation program. If you have the current release of the plug-in, no files will be downloaded to your computer.

3. The validation page will appear. Look for the Internet Explorer Information Bar near the top of your web browser.

4. Right-click on the Information Bar and click Install ActiveX Control in the menu.
