First you need to cut out a piece of fleecy material big enough to go around your MP3 player, mobile phone or digital camera. Or if you want, you can use an old sock - make sure it's clean and just cut off the top and bottom so you have a tube for your player to sit in.

For a drawstring top, fold over the top edge of your material, leaving space for a drawstring cord to go through. Then sew or glue around the bottom of the fold, but don't forget to leave a gap to thread your cord through.
Here's a tip to make it easy to thread your cord through - just attach a large safety pin to one end of the cord and shuffle it through bit by bit.
Thread a large bead on each end or tie them in big knots so they can't slip back through the hole.

Next you need to make your material into a pocket to put your MP3 player in. You can either sew or glue the edges.
Fold the nice side of the material together and sew along the other longer edge and along one of the short edges.

If you're using a sock, just sew down one of the open ends.
NB: If you're gluing it, you'll need to use fabric glue. Make sure you wait for the glue to dry!

Turn the material inside out so you have the right side of the material on the outside. Now you can decorate it with whatever you fancy - sequins, stickers or patches. Maybe you could do your initials in sequins.

There you go! The perfect thing to keep your MP3 player safe and sound.
You can tailor this make to create covers for portable CD players, mobile phones or digital cameras. In fact you can make one to fit just about anything!
