Step 1

First, fill your pot with soil and plant your vegetables - remember to water them!

Step 2

Then, print out the grow-a-long charts found on the right - choose from carrots, onions or potatoes - or why not grow all three?

Step 3

Helen, Joel and Chris in the garden

Stick the grow-a-long chart up somewhere near your plants. The chart will show you what your plants should look like at 2, 6, 9 and 12 weeks.

Remember to keep watering them, and before long you'll have some lovely veg for your tea!

Top Tips

You can see pictures of the vegetables Helen and Joel grew in their presenter pages. Head to Helen's to see wonderful veg , and to Joel for some weird ones!

Helen also had a go at planting herbs in egg shells! Sounds bizarre, but the calcium in the shells feeds the soil making the plants grow better. Why not try this as well?
