Young Dracula: Sydney Rae White Webchat
5th November 2012
Sydney Rae White who plays Erin Noble in Young Dracula popped in to the CBBC Office to answer your questions about being being CBBC's favourite slayer!
Sydney: Hi guys! Thanks for all your questions. I had a great time in the CBBC Office making milky brews and the like! Hit me up with some more questions and I’ll try and answer as many as possible.
LimeFurryLlama: What is it like working on Young Dracula? Is it scary at times?
Sydney: It’s brilliant fun. Never a boring moment! The only scary times are when they bring out a tarantula!
CornelianTitchyVampire: Who is your fave character apart from yourself and do you like vampires? xx
Sydney: My fave character is The Count as he brings the most laughs to the set and that means I guess I love vampires!
StarstoneClarinetSparrow: What is the weirdest costume you have worn?
Sydney: I can’t answer that because it might give stuff away! Wait and see…
CrimsonRainbowDeer: Who is your idol/role model?
Sydney: Good question! I really like Winona Ryder as an actress as she’s very inspirational.
JadeLaughingCherry: At school did you ever get teased? Or Do any of your co-workers have stinky feet or something like that?
Sydney: I got teased but in a gentle way as we were a tight knit school so it was nothing to bad I guess. I have never seen anyone eat more chips that Richard (Malik) but there are CERTAINLY no stinky feet on set!
PeridotBakingElf: Who is the person that seems most like a vampire on set?
Sydney: Keith Lee Castle (The Count) without a DOUBT is the most vampirish of us all!
AmberTwirlingUnicorn: What's the most fun thing that you do when your not on set?
Sydney: I sing and play guitar in my band. That’s the most fun a girl can have I think!
DiamondBrightRobot: If you could have a super power what would it be? I would have to have the power to hypnotise people!
Sydney: I would want to be able to put my hand in my pocket and pull out a twenty pound note whenever I please!
CarmineViolinStag: Why did you audition for Young Dracula, and where is it filmed?
Sydney: I auditioned because I thought the script was great. It’s filmed in and around Liverpool.
JetHyperCricket: If you could sum up 7 words to describe Vlad, what would they be?
Sydney:
1. Pale.
2. Shy.
3. Troubled!
4. Romantic…
5. Moody!
6. Tormented.
7. Distracted.
BlackWittyPelican: I love the show and always wondered if the set looks as good in real life as it does on the telly?
Sydney: It does INDEED! And it’s freezing cold too which just adds to the atmosphere.
CrystalBassHyena: Why did you change your hair?
Sydney: I think it suited Erin better, especially since she becomes more girly in this series.
ScarletSpinningWhale: If you were a vampire for one whole day, what would you do?
Sydney: I would experience flying for a while as a bat. Then, I would smile at people on the Tube with my fangs out to cause minor alarm (but no long term damage – I’m not into violence).
JadeNeonGirl: Do you watch yourself in previous episodes and do you think it's embarrassing?
Sydney: I try not to but I’m usually forced into it by my mum!
Scarletplayingcarrot: What advice would you give to a young actor in the making like me!?
Sydney: Don’t give up! Join as many drama groups as you can or get into Panto. Any experience is good experience and eventually you’ll get noticed.
CerisePoshMonkey: Is it fun behind the scenes?
Sydney: It’s an awful lot of fun, often more so than in front of the camera!
FireOpalCuriousCentaur: How many hours do you spend in make-up?
Sydney: For Erin’s normal look, no more than a half an hour to 40 minutes. A lot less time than Ingrid takes getting her makeup done.
GoldShyDuck: What was your most embarrassing moment on set?
Sydney: Probably having to drink dyed green milk and burping it up for the rest of the day. Bluergh!
Sydney: Thanks so much for all your questions guys! I’ll never get tired of hearing from you. Speak soon I’m sure. Syd x
