CBBC Music: Music Frequently Asked Questions
My Top Songs
Why is some content missing from the Top 40 chart?
Sometimes, we must remove the name of the artist, the name of the song or the music that appears in the official chart. This is not a judgement on the quality of the content - it just means that the content is not appropriate for all children aged between 6 and 12.
What is My Top Songs?
My Top Songs allows you to make a list of your favourite songs from the Top 40 Chart. You can add up to ten songs and put them in whatever order you like. You can even send your Top Song List to your friends.
How do I add on a new song?
Make sure that you are signed in with your BBC iD and then just click on the hearts next to each song.
How do I delete a song from My Top Songs?
There are two ways that you can remove a song from your Top Songs. The first is to click on the filled heart next to the song (you will see that this changes to 'remove' when you hover your mouse over it). The second way is to click the 'edit' button in My Top Songs, to go into edit mode. In edit mode, there is a rubbish bin next to each song, just click on the rubbish bin to delete the song.
How do I change the order of the songs in My Top Songs?
Click on the 'edit' button to enter edit mode. To move songs, simply click and drag them to a different position in your list. If you have JavaScript turned off, use the dropdown menus to change the order of the songs.
How do I send My Top Songs to my friends?
Click on the 'share' button and then enter your email and your friend's email in the boxes. Double check them to make sure that they right and then click on 'send'. Your friend will then receive a link to your Top Songs. We will not pass on any personal details, only your CBBC Screen Name will be visible.
Please make sure that you have your friend's permission before you send them your Top Songs.
I got a message in My Top Songs saying that I broke the House Rules. What does this mean?
All the Top Songs available for you to choose have been checked first by CBBC to make sure that they have nothing in them that might upset people.
On rare occasions, we may have to change the order of your songs or delete your Top Songs List, if you have put the songs in such an order that they spell out a word that some people might find offensive.
Artists
Why can't I find my favourite artist?
On CBBC Music we only feature artists that have been on CBBC. This is so we can use clips and interviews from the CBBC show(s) that the artist was on. Don't worry if you can't find your favourite artist, we are adding new bands and singers to CBBC Music all the time, so please keep on checking the site.
