110g self-raising flour
110g caster sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Hundreds and thousands
Before you start, preheat the oven to 180°C or Gas Mark 4. If you are one of our younger viewers then get an adult to help you.
Use a whisk to cream the butter and sugar together
until smooth. A good tip here is to make sure the butter is at room
temperature so it’s easier to mix.
Add the eggs one at a time
and mix in carefully.
Add a teaspoon of vanilla
in the flour using a large spoon. Then add a little milk until the mixture is a
soft dropping consistency.
It’s time to spoon our mixture
into our paper cases. Use an ice cream scoop so they come out even and rounded.
Pop on your gloves and it’s now
time for the real magic to happen.
Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes. If you’re one of our younger viewers
get an adult to help.
Step five is the really fun bit.
Once the cakes have cooled fully you can start to decorate them. Get yourselves
some icing and any decorations you want such as sprinkles or edible glitter dust and
then you can be as creative as you want.
