| Arrival: | 17 February 2007 (Series 21, Ep 25) |
| Role: | Paramedic |
| Status: | Divorcing his wife |
Blokey, entertaining, gutsy, down-to-earth, streetwise
Jeff is a heavy drinking, football-supporting geezer but he's also a fantastic paramedic. He's got authority on the street and that's priceless to his colleagues.
Jeff has always been his own boss. His last paramedic boss had been a woman, but a woman who he could wrap round his little finger. Dixie is a different matter. For a start, she's gay - and this means his boysy charm falls totally flat. Secondly, she's jealous and defensive about her own position as boss. This is a red rag to a bull for Jeff. He instinctively knows weakness when he sees it and exploits it mercilessly. Anything she says he argues with. And you know what? Underneath their huge and constant antagonism, Jeff and Dixie are very similar. Which is why their bickering never gets totally out of hand. Jeff secretly thinks Dixie is great. And it's mutual. But neither of them would ever admit this. Unless they were drunk and Dixie had just beaten Jeff at darts.
Married to Lucy. Two children - John and Sophia. Lucy and Jeff have now split up, and she has asked Jeff for a divorce. Jeff is devastated that she is planning to move to London and take the kids with her.
