He's a young Charlie Fairhead. Jay thinks he's God's gift to women and this can interfere with his job and his relationships with his co-workers. He's a prankster as well. Jay is a seemingly restless soul. Let's hope the influence of Charlie Fairhead can persuade him to stay, because he's a brilliant nurse. Potentially, one of the best to ever step through the doors of ED.
Jay is the only son of an Iranian mother (Nasrin), and English father. His middle class Mother and Nan (Maryam) left Iran for England in 1979. Once in England, Nasrin met James, a Businessman, and they were soon married. Jay (real name Jamshid) came along two years later, quickly followed by a sister, Elham.
Jay admits that there is one definite upside to working in the E.D and that's the amount of attention he gets from the opposite sex. Jay always plays by the rules, the thing is, he wrote them. And the rules according to Jay are simple - never lie, never make a promise you can't keep, and always stay for breakfast. And then he met Ruth...and everything changed...
Jay is in awe of Zoe, because she gives as good as she gets - she's the one woman who can see through any lines he's spinning, and flirts back just as hard.
Jay likes Adam he respects the fact that Adam doesn't treat him like a skivvy, not like the doctors he has worked with in the past.
Nick doesn't really have much to do with Jay. He's got his own problems, and they have absolutely nothing in common. Nurses barely show on his radar.
Jeff thinks he's great - a true lad he can have a laugh with. Jay looks up to him - he's the one paramedic he'd go drinking with.
Noel thinks he's great. Jay quickly realises this is one person to get on side - after all, Noel knows which cubicle that fit girl got sent to. Jay makes him feel one of the team.
