In a nutshell...

Alice is cripplingly shy and finds people intimidating. She's never been part of a gang, never had a boyfriend and never had any self-confidence. Her mission is to gradually discover herself - and allow people to discover her.

Background...

Alice left school at 18 after failing three A levels (her father's death being the cause). She had a terrible stint as a barmaid that lasted one night. She mucked-out animals on a city farm but didn't really have the physical stamina. Eventually, after a long search and a series of interviews that made her sick with nerves beforehand, Alice arrived at Holby City ED as Receptionist. She didn't really want the job at first. Reception meant lots of stress dealing with the public. Alice was at first reluctant and scared, but with a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to help.

Now an HCA, Alice is constantly being put in situations that scare her. She's still incredibly shy, but self assertiveness classes have given her the basic skills she needs to be able to stand up for herself.

Love life...

Alice is shy and naive when it comes to love. She's had crushes on guys (Guppy and Sam) and has a soft spot for Curtis. Her relationship with Curtis has blossomed, until he unceremoniously dumped her - for seemingly no reason! But when Alice discovered that it was to protect her from Farmead gang leader Tony she quickly forgave Curtis - and they began meeting in secret. But their deception was swiftly uncovered by Tony, and Alice was brutally beaten as a punishment.

• Discovering that Kelsey got it on with Guppy
• Making a harassment claim against Harry
• Delivering a pregnant woman's baby single-handed, while trapped in a lift with a claustrophobic Adam
• Falling in love with Curtis...only to find herself dumped...then discovering that Curtis was trying to protect her from Tony
• Being beaten up by Tony's friends
