So, what’s going on?
For years, we at BBC Caribbean Service have, on radio, been providing in-depth news and current affairs on Caribbean issues. And, as we say, we've been joining the dots between the Caribbean and its diaspora. So, we decided that it’s about time to introduce the same approach to our website. In the slot you’re reading now, there’ll be a regular in-depth news feature/current affairs piece which looks at a big story and goes behind the basic facts.
TALK TO US
In the second slot, we’re asking for your participation. In the last few years, we’ve seen an amazing growth in online debate (via bbccaribbean.com) by Caribbean people all over the world - and people intersted in Caribbean affairs - on a range of issues through debates on this website. So, the new interactive slot will invite you not just to share your views on a topical issue: we’re also inviting you suggest topics for the online debate in 2008.
NEWS IN BRIEF
And, to keep with with the quickly-changing news agenda, the third area on the front page of bbccaribbean.com will be our popular News in Brief section. This will now be updated more regularly.
DOORWAY TO THE BBC
In response to suggestions for access to other BBC services and programmes which cater to Caribbean needs, the rest of our front page now becomes that portal. Here are some of the BBC sites available:
These will be updated regularly. We hope you like the changes. |
