
The BBC offers over 1,700 work experience placements per year, covering the full range of types of work we offer. Choosing and applying for the right placement can be a pretty daunting experience so we’ve compiled a few tips to help you.
You can search and apply for our full range of available work experience placements here. Filter your search based on which region of the UK you’d like to work in, what type of work you’d like to do, the dates that you want your placement to take place within and by age criteria. You can also search using keywords, which is useful if you’re looking for work experience with a particular production or area of the BBC.
Once you’ve found the placement you are after, follow the instructions on screen to complete your application.
BBC Cymru Wales has its own work experience site, in both English and Welsh language, which you can visit by clicking here.

The What We Do section is a great place to find out how the BBC is structured and learn more about which area of the BBC you could potentially find work experience with or work for in the future.
The Our People section is a database containing over 100 interviews with BBC staff and people who are currently on or have completed a work experience placement at the BBC. Have a listen to what they have to say as there’s some great advice and information contained in their stories. It’s also a good opportunity to see what the people who work in various areas of the BBC are like.
The Locations section gives a good overview where our offices and studios, productions and types of role that the BBC offers across the UK. This is a useful way to identify which regions you could apply for work experience in before you begin your search.
