The Communications department are responsible for managing, promoting and protecting the BBC’s corporate reputation both externally and internally.

The Press & Media Relations team are at the heart of the Comms operation, the Corporate Comms team also manage the BBC’s relationship with politicians and opinion formers.

Internally, the department lead communications to all staff across the BBC, provide strategic advice to the Director-General and the Executive and produce the BBC's newspaper Ariel.

Our Digital Communications team supports and advises the business and the department on social media and digital engagement, while in the Divisions, Communications staff provide a skilled and experienced resource to enable the management to deliver their key priorities.

Communications are part of the BBC's Operations Group.
