Someone in this role needs to be from a finance background but also comfortable with the TV production process. Finance has a key role to play in enabling the BBC to achieve its strategic objectives of delivering value.

Production Accountants look after the finances of an assigned area of the BBC, geographically or by genre. They work with Production Co-Ordinators and Production Managers to prevent overspending and making sure budget estimates for the duration of productions are accurate.

Production Accountants advise and consult productions on all matters of budget control and budget forecasting.
