Overview of the role

A Designer working on a BBC Magazine will have studied graphic design and be creative and full of ideas. They are also able to compliment their creative work by being able to keep careful records, contribute to editorial content and carry out administrative tasks.

Reporting to the Art Editor, Creative Director or Editor, the Designer on a BBC magazine produces high standards of typography, picture usage and reprographic work, often to tight deadlines.

A successful BBC Designer is able to juggle their creative and organizational commitments whilst also complying with BBC Editorial Guidelines and BBC Magazines Commercial Guidelines. This ensures our magazines and websites meet the values and standards of the BBC.
