How We Work Together

Food4Thought sessions

We hold regular thought-provoking sessions for staff, inviting internal and external speakers to present on a variety of topics which support our values, help us to understand our strategy and encourage ‘mind-opening’ through hearing different points of view.

Bigger Picture sessions

This all-staff meeting is held twice a year and gives staff the opportunity to come together and hear from world-renowned speakers and from leaders in the company. Evidence shows staff find these sessions very rewarding and motivational.

Screenings

Staff are able to attend exclusive screenings of latest content, often before it has been screened to public.

Spotlights

We provide opportunities for staff to experience and engage with new technology in, for example, our Digital Spotlight exhibition and our US Spotlight weeks.

Charitable activity

We enable staff to get involved in fun activities to raise money for BBC charities - for example, Sport Relief (run), BBC Wildlife Trust (pub quiz, wildlife in the office), Comic Relief, Children in Need (fashion show and dancers etc).

We also provide payroll giving opportunities, which enables staff to sign up to a registered charity of their choice and donate tax-free.

Pay Bar

An on-site Pay Bar is held monthly for staff to get together after work and socialise.

Entertainment

Visiting talent and staff provide special entertainment opportunities such as appearances by professional footballers doing tricks, dancers, comedians, musical entertainment, Pudsey and much more.

And we also have

A 100-strong BBC Worldwide Choir, yoga classes, language classes, wellbeing days and much more.
