There will be two prizes and the prize giving ceremony will take place on 9th February 2007. The winning families will each receive a £15 book token (kindly donated by Ramsey Abbey College) and have their story printed up professionally.  There will be local displays and BBC Cambridgeshire will also pick this up as part of reporting on the Festival output.

Storytimes

Free storytimes for children are held weekly in all libraries.  Cuddling up with your child and sharing a book is a great way for you to unwind, make strong family bonds and give your child a head start academically and socially.

Rhymetimes

Free rhymetimes for babies and toddlers are held in larger libraries. Stories, music and rhymes provide enjoyment for both adult and child.  Recent research has highlighted the value of rhymes in speech development in children.

Book Crawl

Book Crawl is aimed at children under 5. Collect bright and colourful stickers and certificates by visiting the library.  Available in all libraries. Free.

Chatterbooks

Chatterbooks are fun reading groups for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Each member gets a range of materials, including reading lists, review notes, reading diaries and games. Meet in larger libraries. Free.

The Summer Reading Challenge

Takes place every summer in all our libraries. Children read 6 books of their choosing over the summer holidays, and collect stickers and other giveaways along the way. A medal and certificate are presented by a published author at a special celebration event to all who finish the challenge.

Reading Groups

Reading groups for adults are held at several libraries. For those who enjoy reading and talking about books, these are an enjoyable way to make new friends. We also support private reading groups with loans of multiple copies.

Holiday Fun

Events and activities for families are held in most libraries every holiday.  Events are usually free, occasional nominal charges are made to cover expenses.
